Plaushines, Team Receive Academic Honors from ITA

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan junior Kim Plaushines (Oconomowoc, Wis./Kettle Moraine) was honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as a 2003 scholar athlete.
The ITA academic honor was the first for Plaushines, who is a sports management and communications major in the Division of Kinesiology. The junior tennis player was also recognized in 2003 by the Big Ten Conference and the University of Michigan for her academic success.
In addition to Plaushines' individual honor, the U-M women's tennis program was listed among the 72 Division I women's teams to earn ITA All-Academic Team honors.
To be eligible for ITA academic honors, a team must maintain a cumulative 3.2 GPA while an individual must earn a varsity letter, earn a minimum 3.5 GPA during the current academic year, and have at least two semesters at her present school.
