Wolverines Cruise to Road Victory Over No. 9 Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The fourth-ranked University of Michigan men's gymnastics team continued its winning ways on Saturday (Feb. 15), cruising past No. 9 Minnesota 212.350-208.975 on the road.
Leading the way for U-M was senior Conan Parzuchowski (Northville, Mich./University of Detroit Jesuit HS), who placed in the top five on three events. Parzuchowski's most impressive performance of the night came on the still rings where he took first with his season-best score (9.725).
Freshmen Gerry Signorelli (Colorado Springs, Colo./Mitchell HS) and Justin Laury (Marietta, Ga./McEachern HS) finished in second and third place, respectively, in the all-around competition. Signorelli's score of 52.700 included a first-place 8.625 on the horizontal bar, while Laury posted a 50.400 all-around score.
Freshman Luke Bottke (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage HS) saw his first action of the season and finished in second place on the floor (9.050). Senior transfer Brian Peterson (Albuquerque, N.M./Eldorado HS) turned in his best performance of the year on the pommel horse (9.100) to finish in third place.
Captain Scott Vetere (Pennsburg, Pa./Quakertown HS) had a solid evening by placing in the top five in two events. Vetere captured second place on the pommel horse (9.225) and fifth on the floor (8.850). Freshman Andrew DiGiore (Buffalo, N.Y./City Honors School) continued his success on the vault, finishing in third place for the event (9.350) as the only Wolverine in the top five for the event.
Jamie Hertza (West Bloomfield, Mich./West Bloomfield HS) turned in his best performance of the year on the floor exercise (9.000) to finish in third place, while Kevin George (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral HS) took home fourth place on the still rings (8.875).
