PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- University of Michigan sophomore/freshman Mark Moos (Lorain, Ohio/St. Edward HS) was named the Big Ten Conference Wrestler of the Week today (Wednesday, Nov. 12) in recognition of his performance at the Michigan State Open last weekend (Nov. 8-9). The distinction is the first career weekly honor for Moos.

After redshirting last season, Moos looks to be the front-runner to step into the starting lineup at 125 pounds, replacing two-time All-American A.J. Grant. Moos posted a 2-2 record last season in open tournaments.
Michigan wrestlers have claimed the first two Big Ten weekly honors for the 2003-04 season. Last week, junior/sophomore Ryan Churella (Northville, Mich./Novi HS) was recognized after capturing the 149-pound title at the Eastern Michigan Open (Nov. 1).
The Wolverines will set their starting lineup on Sunday (Nov. 16) when they hold the annual Maize and Blue Intrasquad at Cliff Keen Arena. Preliminary matches for all weights will begin at noon and the finals are slated for 4 p.m.
