Michigan sophomore Debra Streifler (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) is the reigning champion in the Maize flight after posting a perfect 4-0 record and defeating Michigan State's Keri Thompson in last season's final (6-0, 6-4). Senior Chrissie Nolan (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South HS) was the runner-up in the Blue flight, losing 6-3, 6-1 to Michigan State's Dora Vastag in the championship match.
Wolverine players also collected runner-up honors in the doubles flight, with Jen Duprez and senior Kim Plaushines (Oconomowoc, Wis./Kettle Moraine HS) suffering a close 8-6 defeat to Michigan State's Caroline Lay and Dora Vasta in the final.
