URBANA, Ill. -- With inclement weather on the radar and the scheduled tee times changed to a shotgun format, the rains came to Stone Creek Golf Course and caused the third round of the Big Ten Conference Women's Golf Championships to be suspended today (Saturday, April 27).
The third round will resume early Sunday morning (April 28), and the final round of the championship has been rescheduled to begin immediately following the completion of the third round. The competitors were about halfway through their rounds when play was suspended Saturday.
Michigan is in fourth place after first-day scores of 302 and 296 for a 598 total, 12 strokes off the lead. Ohio State (297-289/586) is the 36-hole leader, followed by Purdue (294-297/591) and Indiana (305-292/597).
Individually, LeAnna Wicks (Brighton, Mich./Brighton HS) is tied for third (72-73/145), two shots behind co-leaders Mollie Fankhauser and Lauren Knowlton of Ohio State. Laura Olin (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie HS), who fired a one-under-par 71 in the second round, is tied for fifth (75-71/146).
