Wolverines Drop Dual at No. 15-Ranked North Carolina

Stein had a successful weekend, earning NCAA consideration times in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events. Stein closed out the meet with a win in the 200-yard breaststroke, earning a time of 2:17.12. She also posted a season-best time of 1:03.86 in her second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Weilbacher earned Michigan's other consideration time, clocking in at 55.58 for first place in Saturday's 100-yard butterfly competition. Weilbacher swam a season-best 2:03.31 in the 200-yard butterfly to take third place in that event.
Stein and Weilbacher teamed with senior Erin Abbey (Highland Heights, Mich./Mayfield HS) and sophomore Amy McCullough (West Bloomfield, Mich./Mercy HS) to win the 400-yard medley relay. The quartet posted a time of 3:46.84 in the win, edging out UNC's top squad by two-tenths of a second.
Junior diver Tealin Kelemen (Riverton, N.J./Moorestown Friends School) posted NCAA zone diving qualification scores with titles in both the one- and three-meter diving competitions to round out the Wolverines' individual titles. Kelemen's score of 273.05 in the one-meter event was her highest score this season.
Michigan has two weeks of rest before it returns to Chapel Hill, N.C., for the Nike Cup (Nov. 21-23). The competition will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday (Nov. 21) at Koury Natatorium. Each day of the three-day meet will have sessions beginning at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Diver Tealin Kelemen has taken individual titles in three of four events in which she has competed this season.
Both Laura Kaznecki (Wolverine Lake, Mich./Western HS) and Traci Egnatuk (Albion, Mich./Albion Senior HS) set season bests in the 50-yard freestyle with times of 23.90 and 24.04, respectively.
