On the first day of the Women's Collegiate Shootout ... "It was a little chilly this morning, so we were just a little tight, but as the day went on we got comfortable and started to really tackle this course. We played much better in the afternoon, which was really nice to see. We shot our first sub-300 round this year and that feels good. Hopefully we many more of those to come."
N O T E S
Michigan's second-round team total of 299 not only marked a season best, topping the 300 in the second round at the Lady Northern last week, but it marked the first time this year the Wolverines went below the 300-stroke barrier. The team round is the 21st time in school history the Maize and Blue have scored under 300.
With her rounds of 75 and 76, sophomore Laura Olin has now fired 16 straight rounds of 78 or better.
Senior Kim Benedict is playing her 41st consecutive tournament for the Wolverines.
