Lund Hired as New U-M Women's Tennis Assistant

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Former University of Michigan women's tennis standout Danielle Lund has been hired as an assistant coach by head coach Bitsy Ritt. Lund takes the place of the departed Sarah Cyganiak, who is working on her Ph.D. in Spanish at the University of Michigan.
Lund was an All-Big Ten Conference selection in 1998 and received Big Ten Sportswoman of the Year honors in 1999. She was also a member of the 1997 team which captured Michigan's only Big Ten women's tennis title and advanced to the NCAA Team Championship.

Lund ranks fifth all-time in career U-M singles wins with 80 and is third in single-season wins with 29 (1996-97). In addition, Lund's career winning percentage of .667 ranks seventh best among all Wolverines. She graduated in 2001 with degrees in economics and organizational studies.
