Michigan's Nolan Receives USTA Sportsmanship Award

Nolan, Michigan's leader in both overall singles and doubles victories, played outstanding tennis during her initial campaign with the Wolverines. She became the 12th freshman in Michigan women's tennis history to reach the 20-win plateau, finishing the season with a team-high 20-11 overall singles mark. She compiled an impressive 19-7 record against regional opponents
In doubles play, Nolan tallied a 10-10 dual match record and 5-5 mark in Big Ten Conference dual matches. Nolan tied for the team lead in doubles victories with 18 (18-12 record). She teamed with fellow freshman Kavitha Tipirneni (Galloway, Ohio/Hilliard Darby HS) to post an impressive 10-3 record together, including a 2-2 mark at No. 2 and 8-1 mark at No. 3 in dual match competition.
Nolan will receive the award at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I., during its weekend enshrinement ceremonies running Friday through Sunday, July 13-15.
