Michigan Stadium Crowds Need to Pack Even Lighter

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan Athletic Department in conjunction with the University of Michigan's Department of Public Safety has added more items to the Michigan Stadium "Prohibited Items List" for the remainder of the football season.
Fans will no longer be allowed to bring bags of any size into Michigan Stadium. This includes purses, fanny packs, backpacks, diaper bags, etc. Fans are encouraged to bring ONLY necessary items to the stadium.
This policy starts Saturday, Nov. 10, when the Wolverines host the University of Minnesota at 12:10 p.m. Michigan's final regular-season game, against Ohio State on Saturday, Nov. 24, will start at 1 p.m.
Stadium gates will open two hours before kickoff and fans are encouraged to arrive within the first hour. All items carried to Michigan Stadium are subject to search.
Prohibited Items
Bags of any size -- includes purses, fanny packs, backpacks, camera bags, binoculars cases, diaper bags, etc.
Containers of any kind
Aerosol and spray cans
Umbrellas and seat backs
Flags and flagpoles
Alcoholic beverages
Coolers, thermoses, cups, bottles, cans, flasks
Food of any kind
Camcorders and tripods
Strollers
Weapons
Permitted Items
Non-pocket, non-zip seat cushions
Binoculars only -- cases are not allowed
Pagers and cell phones
Clear, sealed water bottles
Small cameras and radios
Blankets and rain apparel
