Wolverines Close Road Schedule with Loss at Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Michigan women's tennis team closed its road schedule with a 5-2 loss to Iowa on Sunday afternoon (April 16) at the Klotz Tennis Courts. The Wolverines (8-10) were swept in doubles and managed only a pair of singles victories to drop to 2-6 in Big Ten Conference action.

Senior co-captain Brooke Hart (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson HS) claimed a 6-4, 6-4 victory against Shera Wiegler at the No. 1 singles spot. Freshman Jen Duprez (Westhampton, N.Y./Westhampton Beach HS) completed an undefeated weekend with a 7-6, 6-2 win over Erica Johnson at No. 4 singles.

Michigan returns to Ann Arbor for a pair of conference matches against Penn State (Saturday, April 22) and Ohio State (Sunday, April 23) at the Varsity Tennis Center. The matches will begin at 11 a.m. on both days.
