BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The University of Michigan women's golf team turned in a ninth-place finish at the University of Indiana Invitational Saturday and Sunday (April 10-11) with a 54-hole total of 997. Indiana was the team champion for the second consecutive year with a final tally of 934 in the 13-team event.
Leading the way for the Wolverines was senior Sharon Park (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay HS). Park finished in a tie for 19th place at 240 with rounds of 81, 79 and 80. Ohio State's Lisa Strom was the individual champion, winning in a playoff after finishing in a three-way tie for first with a 54-hole total of 231.
Other Wolverines participating in the tournament included freshmen Bess Bowers (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North HS), LeAnna Wicks (Brighton, Mich./Brighton HS) and Misia Lemanski (Grosse Ile, Mich./Grosse Ile HS) and sophomore Amy Talbot (Plantation, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas HS).
