All Michigan hockey games are broadcast over the radio on WTKA (1050 AM). Al Randall covers the play-by-play, while Jim Hunt provides color commentary. Home games are also broadcast on WCBN Student Radio (88.3 FM).

Coach Berenson
Red Berenson is in his 16th year as head coach of the Michigan Wolverines. Coach Berenson owns a career record of 402-198-36 and is the 16th winningest coach in NCAA history. He became the 16th coach in NCAA history to reach 400 career wins when the Wolverines defeated Yale 3-2 on Oct. 30 in Ann Arbor. Berenson has 715 games associated with Michigan hockey (636 as a coach, 79 as a student-athlete).
Michigan vs. Miami (Ohio)
The Wolverines and the RedHawks are meeting for the 65th time on Friday. In the series history, Michigan owns a record of 48-14-2 (.766) vs. Miami. Michigan owns a neutral-site record of 1-0-0 against the RedHawks and has a record of 16-12-1 in Oxford. Last season, Michigan won the season series against Miami 3-0-0.
Coach Berenson vs. Miami (Ohio)
Michigan head coach Red Berenson owns a record of 42-12-2 against the RedHawks. Berenson has never faced Miami's first-year head coach, Enrico Blasi.
The Last Meeting
On Feb. 27, 1999, Michigan defeated the RedHawks 9-4 on the strength of two goals and two assists from Mike Comrie (Edmonton, Alberta). Michigan's Mike Van Ryn and Bobby Hayes each netted unassisted goals, and Josh Blackburn (Choctaw, Okla.) earned the win with 11 saves. Seldom-used senior goaltender Greg Daddario made his second appearance of the year in his final regular-season game at Yost Ice Arena and made two saves.
Leading the Nation
Sophomore Mike Comrie is the first player in the country to reach 20 points this season. He is leading the nation is scoring with 10 goals and 10 assists for 20 points in just nine games. Michigan State's Shawn Horcoff (4-13-17 in nine games) and Western Michigan's David Gove (5-12-17 in 10 games) are second to Comrie in collegiate hockey scoring.
Second in the Nation
Mike Comrie is second in the nation in scoring percentage with an average of 2.22 points per game. Boston College senior Jeff Farkas, with 16 points in five games, is leading the country with an average of 3.20 points per game.
Career High on Friday
In Friday's (Nov. 5) game against Ohio State, Mike Comrie scored a career-high five points. He scored a power-play goal and added four assists for five points. Three of the assists were on power-play goals and the other was on Dave Huntzicker's (Ann Arbor, Mich.) game-winning goal.
His Streak
Mike Comrie has recorded at least one point in each game this season for a nine-game scoring streak. Last year, Comrie and Bobby Hayes each had team-high five-game scoring streaks. Comrie scored one goal and five assists for six points and Hayes scored four goals and four assists for eight points in their respective streaks.
Comrie Earns CCHA Offensive Player of the Week
Mike Comrie's weekend performance of two goals and five assists for seven points earned him CCHA Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season. After the opening weekend of games, Comrie was named the CCHA Offensive Player of the Week. Last season, he received was the CCHA Rookie of the Week three times.
The Team's Streak
Michigan has scored a power-play goal in each game this season. The Wolverines are averaging 2.3 power-play goals per game this season and have scored on 21 of 77 chances (27.3 percent).
Big Time D From Huntzicker
In the pair of games last weekend, Dave Huntzicker stood out on defense. On Friday (Nov. 5), he scored the game-winning goal and added an assist for two points. On Saturday (Nov. 6), Huntzicker was on the ice for three goals forced, including Scott Matzka's (Port Huron, Mich.) first short-handed goal. In the set of games, he was on the ice for six goals forced and just one goal against (Ohio State's power-play goal on Friday) for a +4 weekend while taking no penalties. For the season, Huntzicker is tied for the team lead in plus-minus with +8 and has been on the ice for 21 of Michigan's 47 goals forced and just four of 18 goals against.
Young Gun
Mike Cammalleri (Richmond Hill, Ontario) is the youngest player in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association by 364 days. The next closest player to his June 8, 1982 birthdate is Matt Swanson, a goaltender for Ferris State who was born June 9, 1981. Cammalleri is leading the freshman class with four goals, three of them while on the power play. So far this season, he has four goals and two assists for six points in just seven games.
Multi-Point Breakout
Michigan had seven players record multi-point games this weekend. Mike Comrie led the way with two multi-point games this weekend for a total of seven points (2-5-7). On Friday (Nov. 5), Mark Kosick (Victoria, B.C.) scored 2-1-3, Josh Langfeld (Coon Rapids, Minn.) scored 0-2-2, Dave Huntzicker scored 1-1-2 and Comrie posted a career-high 1-4-5. On Saturday (Nov. 6), Scott Matzka and Mike Cammalleri each scored 2-1-3, John Shouneyia (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) scored 1-1-2 and Comrie scored 1-1-2.
Three Short-Handed Goals
In Saturday's (Nov.6) game, Michigan scored three short-handed goals. The last time that was done by the Wolverines was the weekend of Jan. 5-6, 1996, when they scored three short-handed goals in each game of a two-game weekend series against Miami (Ohio) at Yost.
Rapid Fire
Michigan scored two short-handed goals in Saturday's (Nov. 6) game at Ohio State just four seconds apart. While collegiate records are incomplete, the span equals the fastest time in which two goals have been scored by the same team in the NHL. It has happened four times there, with the last being Dec. 15, 1995, when Deron Quint of the Winnipeg Jets scored goals at the 7:51 and 7:55 marks of the second period of a 9-4 win over Edmonton.
Two-Referee System
Michigan's game on Saturday (Nov. 6) was the first time the Wolverines have played a game using the new two-referee system. Steve Piotrowski and Tony Molina officiated the game against the Buckeyes.
A Reunion of Sorts
On Friday (Nov. 12) night, the Wolverines will meet the RedHawks at the Firstar Center in downtown Cincinnati. It will be the first time Michigan has played at the arena since they captured the 1996 NCAA national championship there with a 3-2 overtime win against Colorado College. At the time of the championship, the building was know as Riverfront Coliseum, and it has also been called The Crown since Michigan last set foot in the facility.
Second Time Around
Michigan and Miami have met at a neutral site just once before, a CCHA semifinal game at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit in 1992. Michigan beat the RedHawks 6-2 before losing to Lake Superior State in the championship game the following night.

Solid After Two
Michigan owns a 110-0-4 record in the last 114 games when leading after two periods. The streak dates back to Feb. 11, 1995, when Michigan led the University of Illinois-Chicago 4-3 after two periods before falling 5-4 in overtime.
