The Last Meeting
The last meeting between the Buckeyes and the Wolverines was a CCHA Tournament semifinal game on Mar. 19, 1999, at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Michigan battled Ohio State in a close game, but Sean Ritchlin's goal 14:28 into the second period held up at the game winner as the Wolverines won 3-2 to advance to the CCHA Tournament championship game. Josh Blackburn (Choctaw, Okla.) made 32 saves in front of 14,261 fans on the way to the CCHA Tournament title.
No Home Away From Home
Despite the unbalanced road record of 21-10-3 against the Buckeyes, Michigan has not won at the new Value City Arena. Last season, Michigan was 0-1-1 in a pair of games at the new venue.
Aberration
Last season, one of Michigan's two losses to the Buckeyes was at Yost Ice Arena. Prior to that, Michigan and Ohio State had played 19 games in Yost since the Buckeyes had won in Ann Arbor.
Tough Around the Edges
In the opening and closing periods, Michigan is scoring three times as many goals as the opposition. In the first period of games this year, Michigan has scored 12 goals to the opponent's four. In the third period, Michigan has scored 13 goals to the opponent's four.
Soft in the Middle
In the second period of games, Michigan has scored just three more goals than the opposition, 8-5. However, in conference games, the Wolverines have been outscored 2-4.
The Streak
Michigan's Mike Comrie (Edmonton, Alberta) has recorded a point in each game this season for a seven-game scoring streak. He currently has eight goals and five assists for 13 points. Last year, Comrie and Bobby Hayes each had team-high five-game scoring streaks. Comrie scored one goal and five assists for six points and Hayes scored four goals and four assists for eight points in their respective streaks.
The Streak II
Michigan has scored a power-play goal in each game this season. The Wolverines are averaging 2.1 power-play goals per game this season and have scored on 15 of 60 chances (25.0 percent).
The Streak That is Over
The Wolverines had scored first in each game of the season until Saturday's (Oct. 30) game against Yale. The Wolverines won the game 3-2. Last season, the team was 7-9-2 when the opponents scored first.
The Big 4-0-0
Michigan's win on Saturday (Oct. 30) was head coach Red Berenson's 400th collegiate win. Berenson has collected all of his wins as a Wolverine and is the 16th head coach in the history of college hockey to reach the 400-win plateau. Currently, there are seven other active coaches with 400 wins. Throughout the season, Berenson will match up with three of those coaches as Ron Mason (Michigan State, 843 wins, 1st all-time) and Rick Comley (Northern Michigan, 536 wins, 9th) coach in the CCHA and Jeff Sauer (Wisconsin, 591 wins, 5th) will visit for the College Hockey Showcase in November.

Tickets are available for the Friday, Nov. 12, game against Miami (Ohio) at the Firstar Center in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. They are available at the Michigan Ticket Office, the Firstar Center Box Office or by calling 513-562-4949.
Solid After Two
Michigan owns a 108-0-4 record in the last 112 games when leading after two periods. The streak dates back to Feb. 11, 1995, when Michigan led the University of Illinois-Chicago 4-3 after two periods before falling 5-4 in overtime.
