'M' Trio Earns GTE/CoSIDA District Academic Honors

Michigan's three linemen were part of the 24-man All-District IV team that includes student-athletes from the states of Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama. The all-district team members advance to the GTE Academic All-America ballot.
Renes, Michigan's starting nose tackle, was named to the district squad for the second straight season. A senior/junior, Renes has a 3.52 grade point in literature, science and the arts.
Jansen (3.26 GPA in kinesiology) and Frysinger (3.20 GPA in accounting) are first time members to the all-district squad. Jansen is Michigan's offensive captain, and Frysinger is a sophomore defensive end.
In order to be eligible for Academic All-America honors, an student-athlete: (1) must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), (2) must be a starter or an important reserve and (3) must be at least in the second year at their current school (freshmen are not eligible).
