Wally Gacek was one of Michigan’s first All-Americans in hockey, earning the honor in 1948 and 1949. He helped lead the Wolverines to their first national title in 1948 and a third-place finish in 1949. Gacek served as the center between Wally Grant and Ted Greer on what became known as the “G-Line.” His 82 goals and 151 career points placed him among the finest U-M’s all-time
