Tom Curtis, an Aurora, Ohio, native, is considered one of the finest pass defenders in Big Ten history. In three seasons, he recorded a remarkable 25 interceptions, which set a Michigan record. He tied the conference record for interceptions as a sophomore with seven. In his junior year, he had nine league interceptions and 10 for the season, returning them for a total of 182 yards. In his senior year, he earned All-America honors after he tallied eight more picks for 156 yards and added 45 unassisted tackles. Curtis was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2005.
