Bruce Haynam played shortstop on Michigan’s 1953 NCAA champion baseball team. The Cleveland Heights, Ohio, native garnered All-America honors at shortstop after helping lead Michigan to the NCAA crown under NCAA Coach of the Year Ray Fisher. Haynam and teammates won back-to-back co-Big Ten championships in 1952 and 1953.  As captain of the 1952 team, he was listed at shortstop on Fisher's All-Time Michigan baseball team. A 1954 mechanical engineering graduate, Haynam also served two years in the U.S. Air Force.
