Tommy McMenemy joined the Michigan men's soccer staff on Jan. 30, 2012, and wrapped his eigthh season with the Wolverines after previously serving as an assistant at his alma mater, Columbia University, for six seasons. In April 2018, he was promoted to his current position of associate head coach.Â

McMenemy has coached the previous two Big Ten Offensive Players of the Year in Jack Hallahan (2018) and Nebojsa Popovic (2019), and has overseen an offensive attack that has generated 311 points in the past three seasons (avg. of 4.93 points/match).
The Southampton, United Kingdom native, also served as the head coach of Landsdowne Boys, an amateur men's team in the top division of the New York City's premier semi-professional league, the Cosmopolitan League from 2006-09 - leading Landsdowne to consecutive playoff berths as well as a State Cup Final.
As a player for the Lions, McMenemy earned NSCAA Adidas All-American status as a senior in 2003, and was a two-time unanimous first-team All-Ivy League and First-Team All-Region selection (2002-03). He led the team in goals and assists in his junior and senior seasons, and was selected by his teammates as a team captain as a senior. McMenemy also excelled in the classroom, earning Academic All-Ivy League honors in his final two years as a student-athlete.
