2024 Michigan Athletics Hall of Honor
The University of Michigan Athletics Hall of Honor welcomed seven new members on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024. Members of the 2024 class: Knox Cameron (men's soccer), Amanda Chidester (softball), Dan Goldberg (men's tennis), Curtis Greer (football), Ken Hayward (baseball), Denise Muresan (women's tennis) and Calvin O'Neal (football).

KNOX CAMERON | MEN'S SOCCER (2001-04)
• Knox Cameron is the only player in men's soccer history to earn first-team All-America honors, earning the nod in 2003 from College Soccer News.
• A two-time All-Big Ten honoree, he was also named the 2003 Big Ten Player of the Year. Cameron led Michigan to the 2003 Elite Eight in just the fourth year of men's soccer competing as a varsity sport.
• He earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region first-team honors twice (2001, '03) while also grabbing third-team All-America honors in 2003. Cameron was a three-time U-M Offensive MVP and appears in the top five in Michigan's single-season records 11 times.
• He still ranks first all-time in career game-winning goals (12), second in points per game (1.24) and goals (28), while ranking third in career points (72) and goals per game (0.48).
• Cameron was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week twice, both coming during the 2003 season, and the Big Ten Player of the Week three times.

AMANDA CHIDESTER | SOFTBALL (2009-12)
• Amanda Chidester had a distinguished Wolverine career, earning All-America status twice -- as a freshman in 2009 (second team) and as a junior in 2011 (first team).
• She was twice named the Big Ten Player of the Year (2011, '12) and a three-time All-Big Ten first team honoree (2009, '11, '12). She was named as Michigan's Big Ten Medal of Honor recipient following her senior campaign.
• The ultimate utility player, Chidester saw significant playing time as a catcher, first baseman, second baseman, third baseman and outfielder, boasted a .355 collegiate batting average and finished her career ranked second in Michigan program history in RBI (200), second in grand slams (five), fourth in slugging percentage (.596), fifth in home runs (40), ninth in hits (248) and 10th in runs scored (157).
• Chidester captured Olympic silver for the United States at the 2020 Tokyo Games, becoming the first player in Michigan softball history to claim an Olympic medal.

DAN GOLDBERG | MEN'S TENNIS (1986-89)
• Dan Goldberg led Michigan men's tennis to the 1988 Final Four and earned three All-America honors during his illustrious career.
• A four-time NCAA Singles Championship participant, Goldberg finished runner-up in 1987 and reached the round of 16 in 1989. He earned All-Big Ten first-team honors in all four seasons and was named the Big Ten Athlete of the Year in 1988.
• Goldberg helped Michigan capture the 1988 Big Ten Championship and earned a top-300 ATP singles ranking in the same year. He was honored by the Big Ten in 1989 as the Big Ten Sportsman of the Year.
• He is one of two Wolverines in program history to win at least 40 singles matches in a season, going 42-9 in 1987. Goldberg remains the winningest singles player in men's tennis history, winning 127 matches over his four seasons.
• Goldberg also spent 12 seasons as an assistant coach for the Wolverines (1994-2005), helping U-M capture the 1996 Big Ten Championship.

CURTIS GREER | FOOTBALL (1976-79)
• Curtis Greer earned All-America honors in 1979, helping Michigan to three Big Ten Championships during his career.
• He is U-M's all-time career leader in tackles by a defensive lineman with 313. Greer's 48 career tackles-for-loss puts him at No. 4 on the all-time list.
• He earned All-Big Ten first-team honors in 1978 and 1979. He recorded 23 tackles for loss in 1979, which still ranks No. 5 all-time at Michigan.
• He was drafted in the first round of the 1980 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals, where he played from 1980-87 in the NFL.

KEN HAYWARD | BASEBALL (1982-85)
• Ken Hayward was a member of Michigan's 1983 and 1984 College World Series teams, while earning All-Big Ten honors three times.
• He was Michigan's recipient of the Big Ten Medal of Honor in 1985, while also serving as team captain and winning the Bill Freehan Award as the team's top hitter.
• Hayward holds the program record for games played in a career (234), while also topping the list in career batting average (.376) and RBI (207). He still ranks second in walks (119) and on-base percentage (.466), while ranking in the top 10 in 13 different batting categories.
• He was a three-time All-Big Ten Tournament team honoree (1983, '84, '85), helping the Wolverines capture the 1983 and 1984 Big Ten Tournament titles.

DENISE MURESAN | WOMEN'S TENNIS (2008-11)
• Denise Muresan earned three All-America honors during her time at Michigan, becoming the program's second All-American and first in the NCAA era.
• She led Michigan to a pair of Big Ten championships during her last two seasons, U-M's second and third in program history. She was named the Big Ten Athlete of the Year during those seasons (2010, '11) while earning back-to-back NCAA Singles Championships appearances.
• Muresan graduated first in school history with 111 wins, which still ranks sixth all-time. She had a .707 winning percentage in singles play, good for 10th all-time.
• Muresan earned a No. 6 singles ranking in the 2011 year-end ITA rankings, making her one of three players in program history to end with a top-10 ranking.
• A three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Muresan graduated with a degree in biopsychology, cognition and neuroscience.

CALVIN O'NEAL | FOOTBALL (1973-76)
• Calvin O'Neal was named an All-American in 1976 after earning a pair of All-Big Ten first-team honors in 1975 and 1976.
• He captained Michigan's 1976 Big Ten Championship team, one of three championship teams he played for. U-M finished in the top 10 of the final national polls in each of his four seasons, highlighted by a No. 3 ranking in 1974.
• O'Neal started 27 games at linebacker and was one of the top tacklers in school history with 378 tackles to go with 16 pass breakups, four forced fumbles and three interceptions. He tallied 16 games with double-digit tackles and set the Michigan single-game record with 24 tackles against Purdue in 1976.
• He was drafted in the sixth round of the 1977 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Colts.
