Team 46 is fired up and ready to go! We are so excited to be able to share our gymnastics with our fans this season -- we’ve missed you! LET'S GO BLUE!”-- Abby Brenner

Seniors Abby Brenner and Abby Heiskell, along with junior Sierra Brooks were voted tri-captains.
Brenner enters her second year as a team captain as she was one of three captains in the 2021 campaign. She returned from an injury last season to compete on the uneven bars at the NCAA Championship, scoring a 9.9250 to help Michigan to its first-ever national title. Heiskell garnered four All-America nods in 2021 and notched first team All-Big Ten honors. Brooks had an impressive sophomore season for the Wolverines, earning six All-America citations with two for the regular season and four during her standout performance at the NCAA Championships.

After recording a program-best score of 198.250 and claiming its first-ever national title, the Michigan women's gymnastics team returns all but one routine from its 2021 lineup, including all five of its WCGA All-Americans that earned a total of 14 All-America citations a year ago. The Wolverines broke the 198.000 barrier four times in the 2021 season, while also breaking the uneven bars and balance beam records in the 2021 campaign. Three newcomers will also join the team in 2022.

“Last season, we were restricted to cardboard cutouts and a couple of family members depending on the weekend at our meets. So as you can imagine, I’m elated to have fans in Crisler this year and am hoping to see old fans as well as new ones once the season starts!”
– Sierra Brooks

“I am super excited that we have the opportunity to compete in front of fans this year. It will be a really cool experience, especially for the freshmen and sophomores, to compete in Crisler when it’s packed with fans, fellow students and student-athletes!"
